There are new opportunities everywhere around us. Some of us can see them easier than others, have you ever wondered why that is? As a company leader, I am always challenging my teams to view our “product experience” through the eyes of a first time “customer”. That’s often really hard to do. Especially if you’re in a role with high repetition like many of my team advisors and representatives…even my training instructors who actually deliver our product!
Personally, I have had a meaningful time to reflect during our Nation’s “pause” due to COVID-19. Now is the time for new opportunities to better understand our individual and team roles in both our professional and personal lives. We have a chance to learn new ways of how to do things simply because we MUST learn new ways of HOW to do things – the old way just won’t work during this pandemic. As we all adapt to our new working environment, we need to empathize that our customers must also do the same. This is a new opportunity.
I’m optimistic that we can navigate these new opportunities and deliver stronger results together. One of my favorite book reads is Malcolm Gladwell’s “Outliers – The Story of Success”. I’m holding on tight to the quote about the opportunity and how Outliers are able to capitalize on those moments due to their “strength and presence of mind to seize them”. During this time of opportunity, I will learn to be present and stay strong so our company can succeed and remain to be the Nation’s leading Commercial Driver’s License employment and CDL training provider.
